I’d Rather Vote For a Psychic Than a Sychophant

by Jason Frerichs

On April 17th, Jason Noble of the Des Moines Register published a hit piece against Kim Weaver, who is running for congress in Iowa’s 4th congressional district.  Notorious racist Steve King is the current holder of that seat.  He has been labeled the most ineffective person in congress.

He’s also a virulent white supremacist.  Here are some of Steve King’s greatest racist hits…In reference to far-right nut-job Dutch politician Geert Wilders, King said, “Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies.”  Wilders was quoted saying, “I hate Islam” and once compared the Quran to Mein Kampf.  King has said that non-white people have contributed less to society than white people.  King has referred to undocumented immigrants as “livestock”, going so far as to suggest electrifying the border fence.

Steve King has the following to say about then-presidential candidate Barack Obama, “When you think about the optics of a Barack Obama potentially getting elected president of the United States—I mean, what does this look like to the rest of the world? What does it look like to the world of Islam? I will tell you that, if he is elected president, then the radical Islamists, the al Qaeda, the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11 because they will declare victory in this war on terror.”

King’s most famous racist statement had to do with undocumented immigrants who become valedictorians.  He said that for every valedictorian, “There’s another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.” John Boehner, the then House Speaker, called King’s comments “deeply offensive and wrong,” but the Iowa representative stood by his claims, saying, “My numbers have not been debunked.”  Steve King is a white supremacist and it takes a lot of mental gymnastics to dispute that fact.

The question is why this piece and why now?  I have a couple of theories.  The first has to do with the 5th rate hack Jason Noble.  Other news organization were sent the same package about Kim but declined to report on it.  Noble saw an opportunity to write a hit piece and make a national name for himself.  It’s cowardly and doesn’t say anything positive about his character as a person.  That said, he is certainly prepared for a position in the Trump administration. When Noble was employed by the Kansas City Star, he wrote a hit piece against a Kansas Republican State Senator.  The “expose” was so poorly written that the paper had to issue a four-part correction.

My other theory is that Steve King is scared.  Kim Weaver raised more than $100,000 in three days.  She currently has more money on hand than Steve King.  I have no evidence of this but I wouldn’t put it past him to have hired a private investigator to dig up any dirt he could find.  If this is the best he could do then he should be scared.

PVI has spoken directly with Kim.  She assured us that she does not believe she has any magical psychic powers.  She is doing well and is surrounded by friends to help her move past the first hit piece that was written against her.  I guess we should say Mazeltov young grasshopper.  Kim’s campaign manager Todd Prieb issued the following statement, “Frankly, the idea that people would care about something Kim did 10 years ago on an entertainment website more than Steve King’s horrendous voting record is insulting to the voters of this district.  Kim does not actually believe she has psychic abilities, but she does foresee Steve King being unemployed after 2018.”

I have a few psychic predictions to make.  I predict that Steve King will continue to make racist statements and be an embarrassment to any Iowan with at least 2 working brain cells.  I also predict that cowards like Chuck Grassley, Joni Ernst, Rod Blum, and Terry Branstad will continue to be the mealy-mouthed, bigoted, apologist cowards that they currently are.  Kim didn’t steal anyone’s life savings.  She didn’t do anything illegal.  She ran an entertainment business.  We have a choice between someone who has made a career out of helping others vs a white supremacist.  It’s a no-brainer.
